TDF Wendy Wasser Project End of the Year Celebration

For a second year Luis had the honor of mentoring students for a second year with this project. As we conclude this year, that was full of great theatre,  we came together to discuss and celebrate theatre. 

2024 Jimmy Awards will take place June 24

The National High School Musical Theatre Awards® (the Jimmy Awards®) are a national celebration of outstanding student achievement, recognizing individual artistry in vocal, dance, and acting performance and elevating the importance of theatre arts education in schools. Luis is excited to be joining this special program for a second year as a Director/Choreographer who has the honor of creating with these young artists full of talent and potential. 

Salgado Productions is also thrilled that composer lyricist and music director,  Jesse J. Sanchez, who was the musical arranger of last year's piece "Musicals Inspired by Shakespeare" will join Luis again this year at the Jimmy Awards in June.

Steps on Broadway Summer Study 2024

New York's Most Elite Dance Makers lead this summer program, June 10 - June 30. Over the past several years this program has held a place in Luis' schedule.  The opportunity to get in the studio with dancers that are ready to work and hone in on their technique, versatility and tools is a

    Acabo de llegar a mi hogar de una noche maravillosa. El publico en el teatro Marquis estaba a todo dar y la energía en el escenario llena de poder. Nuestro elenco de ON YOUR FEET es uno muy especial y comparto con ellos la alegría del momento presente; pero a la distancia, en mi isla caribeña de Puerto Rico a la misma vez que me “trepaba” al escenario ocurría otro evento MUY especial para mi. Uno que hacia a cada segundo mi trabajo en la ciudad de los rasca-cielos aun mas completo y contundente. En mi único momento de respiro dentro del primer acto, estaba en mi camerino terminando de ponerme la corbata y a unos tres minutos de entrar otra vez a escena para hacer CONGA, -el final del primer acto-. Enveloped by the DayDreamer playlist on my British Airways flight, memories of my travels to some of the most enchanting places on Earth flood my mind. London, Spain, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Thailand—each holds a special place in my heart, beckoning me back time and time again. Reflecting on my childhood, I recall the exhilaration of my first flight at the tender age of 9. Flying solo, I was treated to coconut ice cream by a kind flight attendant, a gesture that made me feel truly special.
