The Journey to Art With A Purpose

What an incredible month of inspiration, empowerment, going beyond and making ART WITH A PURPOSE.  Some of te deepest Purpose by the way... To fully be alive and to fully explore ART! Through this collaborative process R.Evolución Latina empowered our Latin community from around the world, we honored and celebrated the legacy of Raul Julia who proved that the “impossible” dream is indeed possible. 36 hungry artists have embraced this opportunity to grow, evolve and experience something new.  To devise and direct TO BE OR NOT TO BE - A SHAKESPEAREAN EXPERIENCE for revolution latina was a re-assurance that we must always follow our HEART!   Language:   is the method of human communicati on, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way. For me language has become the character at question during the process of adapting and giving life to this production. Language… what a beautiful thing, it can unite us or separate us, open our souls and our humanity or close it with insecurities L anguage = Cultures and yet. There is another language that opens us up to a better state and furthers our possibilities, the language of art. No matter what language you speak   tonight   you will feel the universal language of dance, be touched by the music, and share the energy of each actor.  These special tools of art make us all better. Today is the last day of another production I get to direct.... there are no words, TRULY, to describe what I feel.... Photo by Jason River When I think about R.Evolución Latina I think about the amount of lives that are empowered not just by our organization but by the many other art related non-profits who truly dare to go beyond. I think of  the people who service with love and compassion, sharing the best of themselves to support the everlasting necessity of a better world. I feel the same of all leaders, whether they are company owners or the good intentioned politicians (which are rare), leaders who care to find ways to better the lives of those around them.  But most importantly our teachers, the unsung hero's of society come to mind. Here I am, AT LAST some time to catch up to my "other" tasks! Trying to put into words what has been an incredible year of growth and now... The end of December is here.  Has it really been 4 months since my last English blog? I have been nonstop, I mean that literally. Opening the production of ON YOUR FEET took all of our focus, passion and love and it was worth every second of our time. Little did I know that between putting up this new Broadway show and being a father/husband, everything else would have to be put on hold.  R.Evolución Latina always gets it's time because our team is incredible and keeps it all on the go but my own thoughts of ART WITH A PURPOSE and the focus and momentum of SalgadoProductions from the creative part simply had to go into pause mode. We have so many scripts on the table waiting for me to get to, and now... we start; WITH THE NEW YEAR! LOTS AND LOTS OF WORK AHEAD, and honestly...
