What D.C is saying about the new production of 1776 directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado

Everyone knows how the story of “1776” ends, but the musical breathes new life and depth into the classic tale” “an inherently political show that can connect history to the present when done right. Ford’s Theatre does just that in its hallowed space.” Aidan O'Connor- MD Theatre Guide (READ MORE)

"Directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado, this not-to-be-missed historical and at times hysterical comeback.." Kelly MacConomy, ZEBRA (READ MORE)

"It’s all staged and choreographed so well by director Luis Salgado that you barely notice the transitions and you are immediately transported back to 1776.... The show is just a visual masterpiece." - Chuck Duncan, HOTCHKA (READ MORE)

“..director Luis Salgado has created a surprising and effective frame for the action.”
“Jonathan Atkinson commands the stage whenever he appears as John Adams,”
“Interestingly, Salgado draws out the parallels between Adams' loneliness for his wife Abigail (Kanysha Williams) and that of Thomas Jefferson (youthful-looking Jake Loewenthal) for his Martha (Justine "Icy" Moral). These were always present, but this direction and a specific prop make it more concrete.”
