Reflections From The Table

This month I had the honor of joining Rosalba Rolón and Academia de Artes Escénicas as a panelist. The questions on the table challenged me to reflect deeply on the role of art in our communities today.
My answer was clear. "We must keep creating spaces that amplify new voices, empower audiences, and remind us that theatre is more than entertainment—it is a call to humanity. The impact I seek is twofold: to transform community and to transform the industry."

My vision is for Latino theatre to stop being seen as “alternative” and to become indispensable in New York City. That requires strategic unity across our networks, greater investment in our stories, and a collective commitment to affirm that being Latino is not a trend—it is a central part of New York’s cultural DNA.

Baseball & Theatre

This Yankees' season has been a personal journey. During the pandemic I discovered a gap—and baseball filled it. Now it has become a metaphor for theatre: the discipline of rehearsal, the energy of teamwork, and the ritual of stepping on the stage (or field). Sports have given me new ways to connect with others, decompress, and remind myself that we must care for each other.

At the same time, the story of ¡Americano! continues beyond the stage. Sharing time with Antonio Valdovinos this week reminded me that our lives, friendships, and reflections carry the story forward, even when the curtain rests.

Parks Tour 2025: Mission Complete

We wrapped our 2025 Salgado Productions Parks Tour across some of the nation’s best adventure parks! From coast to coast, we shared music, dance, and storytelling with thousands of families. This journey was not only about entertainment but about building bridges through art, joy, and cultural pride.
