So many reasons to be GRATEFUL!
I have to admit that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I am not sure how much of it has to do with the history that motivates it but, more so I think I am connected to the sense of Gratefulness that invades my surroundings during the week.
It takes place once a year but, personally I am often in a deep state of gratitude. Each day brings the awareness that I am privileged to do what I love, thanks to many things, situations and the people that have supported me getting here. On this one day in November we get to collectively CELEBRATE and SHARE AS ONE the things we are more thankful for.
This time of gratitude also provides the feeling of a new beginning, as we start concluding a year of growth and moving into a new horizon of dreams and potential.
Friedrich Nietzsche said: "The essence of all beautiful art, [all great art] is gratitude". So, I will take a look back.
November 2013 to November 2014 and do a quick summary of the Top 7 things that Salgado Productions is very grateful for.
1. We had the opportunity to write, direct, co-produce and Cchoreograph a major production for Peruvian/International artist Cecilia Bracamonte in her "Aniversario Sin... Cuenta".
2. We are more than happy and proud of having brought together some of the most dynamic producers in a collaboration with the Mexican Chamber of Commerce. 'Latin American meets Wall Street' was the first of many, and an event that motivated lots of new collaborations and productions.
3. Creating is always thrilling but when inspiring, it's even more. We went into the studio, to not only develop projects but also to inspire writers creative development.
4. I personally started creating my own Story Line / Project for a future boxing production. Stay tune as I stay connected to my passions.
5. We managed to produce our first Musical Theater Intensive in NYC, bringing together local and international students.
6. We had the honor of getting our team together to give LIGHT to our vision while creating a new musical by Andrew Beall and Neil Van Leeuwen in the world premier of Song Of Solomon.
7. Had the chance to conclude that journey tof art with a purpose with our team being honored and celebrated with the Best Director award at the 2014 NYC Thespis Festival!!!
The last 12 Months have been fantastic and we look forward to the new adventures and reasons to be grateful in 2015.
