THE LESSONS OF THE WEEK!

Art with a Purpose is Everywhere…

Sometimes we are part of the art, sometimes we see it, and sometimes we strive to have it be part of what we do. No matter what, it guides and inspires the actions and accomplishments in our lives.

These last few weeks Salgado Productions has been working full time on three big projects. First, an animated TV episode for kids, then,  running auditions and pre production for a show in Atlantic City and of course the continual prep and planning for the Cecilia Bracamonte concert in Peru.

We feel blessed and excited to have so much work, but parallel to this was the opportunity to see great work. That was the best inspiration!!!

Between a JAM and The Butler

I continually learn that the making of Art with a purpose is simply built deep in the souls of human beings and the ARTISTS, who make it. It is talent, desire and the need to express that guides this purpose, this art. This week I feel like I won the lottery as I experienced two pieces of art that serve as a way to enlighten the world by bringing a smile, an awareness, and by doing it all with faith, and without apology. Through their art comes a wonderful contribution to our society and to the hearts of those who got to witness it.

First

Lee Daniel's The Butler

What a fantastic film. The story, the facts, the historical lessons, the great acting, the emotional build up in the journey of the film and the behind the scene story of how HARD IT WAS to get it done.

So much so that Ken Davenport wrote a blog about the controversy of the number of producers involved. Check it out: The Producer's Perspective

If you have not had a chance to see "The Butler" I am taking this moment to encourage you to go see this film.

The second piece of Art…

The JAM

I am so much richer after witnessing the magic of this show, again,  because I find myself, inspired, motivated, educated and more, when seeing one of the greatest talents I know do his thing. This guy sings, acts, gives us a little comedy, and taps like angels and demons coming together in a fiesta of ENLIGHTENMENT. He uses all of his art to open the eyes of many and share his deepest passions.

Daniel Watts is a true artist surrounded by wonderfully talented friends who make any space sparkle with PURE TALENT!

I am truly inspired and I want to be better because of this work.

Last but not least in my lessons of the week…

THE AUDITION PROCESS

I just got to see 150 dancers in 4 hours to select only 11 of them. How crazy the audition process can be at times but how greatly educational it can be!

We must all have such a sense of awareness and PURPOSE when walking into a room. It’s tangible and measurable within seconds who can do what and how it would be to work with them.

As I always repeat the quote TRAINING IS EVERYTHING and WE MUST BE READY FOR WHEN OPPORTUNITY COMES!
