The Journey to Art With A Purpose

We feel inspired because of you. Today is the last day of another production I get to direct.... there are no words, TRULY, to describe what I feel.... Photo by Jason River When I think about R.Evolución Latina I think about the amount of lives that are empowered not just by our organization but by the many other art related non-profits who truly dare to go beyond. I think of  the people who service with love and compassion, sharing the best of themselves to support the everlasting necessity of a better world. I feel the same of all leaders, whether they are company owners or the good intentioned politicians (which are rare), leaders who care to find ways to better the lives of those around them.  But most importantly our teachers, the unsung hero's of society come to mind. Art, THEATRICAL ARTS, PERFORMING ARTS... ART... what is it?  God, please help me understand or better yet… THANK YOU for letting me be LOST in the PASSION for IT! The most human moments of my life, - other than the birth of my son-, I have experienced with ART, because of Art, doing ART! Surrounded by a bunch of people, that sometime I know nothing about and choose to live under an IMAGINARY conflict that we get to explore, create and at times resolve in the journey of that “THING” we might be doing and that we call ART. ART, so many times has scared me, but so many more times it has liberated me. ART! …  ARTS!     ART! … Art triggers desires that push me to explore, it teaches me, it makes me want, it takes me to a spiritual orgasm, to a catharsis again and again and over again… what is this thing? COULD IT BE GOD? I already call the studio my church and the process of it my “religion” so what is it?… I have bee...

Here I am, AT LAST some time to catch up to my "other" tasks! Trying to put into words what has been an incredible year of growth and now... The end of December is here.  Has it really been 4 months since my last English blog? I have been nonstop, I mean that literally. Opening the production of ON YOUR FEET took all of our focus, passion and love and it was worth every second of our time. Little did I know that between putting up this new Broadway show and being a father/husband, everything else would have to be put on hold.  R.Evolución Latina always gets it's time because our team is incredible and keeps it all on the go but my own thoughts of ART WITH A PURPOSE and the focus and momentum of SalgadoProductions from the creative part simply had to go into pause mode. We have so many scripts on the table waiting for me to get to, and now... we start; WITH THE NEW YEAR! LOTS AND LOTS OF WORK AHEAD, and honestly...
