A DAY OF HOPE: I wrote this Nov 4, 2026
TODAY IS A DAY OF HOPE.
Today is a very special day.
Our communities have taken action. We have shown up. We have exercised one of the greatest freedoms we hold as a people: the right to vote.
And today, we have reason to feel hopeful again.
We see new faces, new voices, and new possibilities emerging in our government. Leaders who look more like us, speak like us, understand our communities, and reflect the beautiful diversity of this country. Leaders who can help restore balance, representation, and hope.
As the founder and artistic director of R.Evolución Latina, I have always believed that while our organization does not engage directly in partisan politics, one of our most powerful political acts is ART.
Art is how we speak. How we resist. How we heal. How we build bridges. How we remind the world of our humanity.
And today, perhaps we wear our hearts a little more openly in blue, celebrating the possibility of a future where hatred is not the loudest voice in the room, where fear does not define our communities, and where representation brings us closer to understanding one another.
But our work doesn’t end at the ballot box.
It continues through every song we sing, every dance we create, every story we tell, every character we bring to life, every poem we write, and every canvas we paint.
Our art is our contribution to democracy. Our creativity is our contribution to change. Our love is our contribution to humanity.
In the years ahead, we have an opportunity and a responsibility to support a future built on dignity, inclusion, peace, and possibility.
Today, I celebrate our country.
I celebrate everyone who voted. I celebrate those who could not vote but used their voices, their energy, and their courage to inspire others to take action.
I celebrate the communities that refuse to be silenced.
And I celebrate the artists who continue to believe that what we create can transform the world.
Today is a day of HOPE.
Today, we dare to go beyond.
Beyond what?
Beyond the limitations.
Beyond the restrictions.
Beyond the fear.
Beyond the divisions that have tried to define us.
We dare to go beyond toward hope, clarity, elevation, empowerment, and love.
And we do it with what we know best.
WE DO IT THROUGH ART.
Because when our communities rise, we all rise.
And when our communities win, we all win.
Let’s keep daring. Let’s keep creating. Let’s keep going BEYOND.
With love, with art, and with each other.
