R.Evolución Latina Concluded the 2015 Beyond Workshop Series

My non-profit organization R.Evolución Latina concluded tonight the 2015 Beyond Workshop Series. It's been so rewarding seeing this students grow.  The BWS started February 23rd at The National Dance Institute for Learning & the Arts, and had its' first student sharing as part of the dance program on March 6th under the direction of Rickey Tripp and Gabriela García.

The second part of the program, started March 9th focused on Shakespeare and Voice and concluded tonight with a presentation of the students work.

Seeing them take the risks and go beyond in every artistic and human step is something that I can not really measure at the moment. I must wait a bit and see the result of the planted seeds in them.

The first 2 weeks of the program was focused on dance, ensemble building and expanding cultural exchange under the idea of Daring to Go Beyond.

It's been 8 years now that R.Evolución Latina has been promoting community empowerment through the arts as a NY base non-profit organization. This program now in it's 8th year as well, is scholarship-based training for actors, singers and dancers at varying career levels.

A total of 50 artists from New York and 20 different Latin American countries were exclusively selected to benefit from the program. This year's International portion included students from Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Mexico.

As Founder/Director of RL I HAVE THE HONOR OF WORKING WITH SUCH GREAT ARTISTS & TEACHERS. Coming from Broadway, Film, and TV works we assembled fantastic individuals to provide the students with in-depth, professional training tailored for all experience levels.

This year the students had a special opportunity to witness the process of building a show when I got to included them in a day of rehearsal for our Salgado Productions Zuccotii Park, the musical  project.

The 2015 BWS faculty included Rickey Tripp (Motown, In The Heights) Amanda Turner (Phantom of the Opera) Arielle Rosales (Zorro), Greer Gisy (In The Heights), Robert LaFosse (New York City Ballet), Michael Fielder (In The Heights), Lara Tant (Joffrey Ballet faculty), Mary Ann Lamb (The Visit, Curtains), Gabriela Garcia (CHICAGO, Joffrey Faculty), Valeria Cossu (Mayumana), Seth Stewart (Hamilton, In The Heights, Madonna), Marcus Paul James (Motown, RENT, In The Heights), William Wade (Juilliard faculty, Imaginocean) Ian Hersey (The Public Theatre), Sarah Sirota, (Hello Muddah), Marcus D. This program would not be possible without the support of "Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS" and the team behind the scenes Hanley Smith, Heather Hogan, Denisse Ambert, Monica Delgado and many more volunteers. The students are so committed to developing an honest process and are challenge daily to go beyond. WE LOVE IT!

Tonight the group reunited for a final evening of sharing, of exposing the PROCESS of GOING BEYOND and making ART WITH A PURPOSE to the audience. I am lucky to learn from each of this souls by directing the presentation. But I am more than BLESSED to witness the kind hearts of the DONATE THEIR TIME AND ART because they believe they can INSPIRE LIVES with their ART.

The Shakespeare program was directed by Ian Hersey, the musical numbers by William Wade and Marcus Paul James, the fantastic collaboration at the The National Dance Institute are all fantastic confirmations that ART MATTERS AND CAN INSPIRE LIVES!

R.Evolución Latina provides 6 celebrated local, national and international programs including the Beyond Workshop Series, the Dare to Go Beyond Children's Performing Arts Camp, School Arts, and Kids Beyond Broadway.
