The Journey to Art With A Purpose

My friends, sometimes, Thank you is not enough but is all we have to give. 2014 has been a FANTASTIC year of ADVENTURES, GROWTH, Furthering of DREAMS and EVOLUTION OF LIFE! The greatest gift with out a doubt has been my son that was BORN during another amazing time, my 3rd Original Broadway Production. The rest is HEALTH, LOVE, HARD WORK and Family. LOTS OF FAMILY in this year and I am THANKFUL for reconnecting with all of them! To all of you who in SOMEWAY have been a part of the JOURNEY! GRACIAS! Cooper, a soldier on leave from Afghanistan, meets up with former childhood neighbor, Kate, at Zuccotti Park, where she is part of the Occupy Protests. He gets caught up in a scuffle between protesters and police, and ends up in jail with Kate. Cooper soon discovers that Kate has changed quite a bit since their Iowa days, and they disagree on almost everything. Throughout the play, we learn the back-stories of the protesters as well as the points of view of people who profit from the system. http://www.

I have to admit that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I am not sure how much of it has to do with the history that motivates it but, more so I think I am connected to the sense of Gratefulness that invades my surroundings during the week. It takes place once a year but, personally I am often in a deep state of gratitude. Each day brings the awareness that I am privileged to do what I love, thanks to many things, situations and the people that have supported me getting here. On this one day in November we get to collectively CELEBRATE and SHARE AS ONE the things we are more thankful for. This time of gratitude also provides the feeling of a new beginning, as we start concluding a year of growth and moving into a new horizon of dreams and potential. What a ride we have had with Salgado Productions this past month. I want to take a second to thank Franco Moschetti and his entire team for nurturing the passionate, creative artists at The Thespis Theater Festival. Both the festival and the Competition is organized to help bring never-before seen work of playwrights, directors and actors to the stage in a way that may lead to future productions. It concluded September 5th, 2014 with great success. As I read the words of my friend and extraordinary musical director, Eugene Gwozdz I feel inspired to further continue the work of making ART WITH A PURPOSE. What a fun process and what a challenge to guide so many people in so little time. I LOVE IT! I am nothing but grateful for the opportunity to explore, learn and grow with a group of 23 actors, 4 musician and  a creative team that I will be forever grateful for trusting and helping the vision of many dreamers. We get to collaborate and share the joy of giving life for the first time to the work of two young exciting writers.
