Commitment to your craft and elements that set up GOOD work are keys to success.

Right now, I am exploring how to bring that sense of purpose to very "commercial" work. It think some people might see our idea of making Art with a Purpose as something very “profound” as if we are claiming to only make Art as social work. The truth is, that it comes with the territory as I am a Social advocate and founded the non-profit organization, R.Evolución Latina that has been successful in fulfilling it's mission for six years now. Salgado Productions is a business and we must do work that can employ people and fill other needs than the ones we see with RL. After all “some of my work must pay for the trees” the talented,  Graciella Daniel once said to me. This idea reinforces our goal of developing a healthy process  for a very commercial piece/venue. Salgado Productions is now in the midst of creating a casino show, The Latin Quarter in collaboration with a wonderful producer and his team. Art with a Purpose is Everywhere… Sometimes we are part of the art, sometimes we see it, and sometimes we strive to have it be part of what we do. No matter what, it guides and inspires the actions and accomplishments in our lives. These last few weeks Salgado Productions has been working full time on three big projects. First, an animated TV episode for kids, then,  running auditions and pre production for a show in Atlantic City and of course the continual prep and planning for the Cecilia Bracamonte concert in Peru. We feel blessed and excited to have so much work, but parallel to this was the opportunity to see great work. That was the best inspiration!!! Between a JAM and The Butler I continually learn that the making of Art with a purpose is simply built deep in the souls of human beings and the ARTISTS, who make it. RIGHT ON TRACK!

As I reflect on life... There are so many dreams inside my head but there is one focus that unites them all, the making of ART WITH A PURPOSE. It’s not always an easy balancing act, and sometimes, it's not a simple task to find time for it all but it’s certainly worth the try. Great things have happened in our universe, in our world, in our societies because someone tried. In my reflection, I think of the miracles that affect us everyday. For instance, think about GRAVITY itself, the miraculous force that allows us to walk this earth. This is a GREAT blessing that we can not ignore. We have the honor to Sing, Dance, Express, Communicate, and Inspire. ART is not just an easy thing but we are blessed to get to work with it, in it, through it EACH DAY OF OUR LIFE. It’s important to take a little time off to reflect on the everyday miracles, blessings and privileges we experience. This allows us to start again with more commitment, more drive and more PURPOSE.
